A transformation of an old, dark apartment where the spatial layout was very uncomfortable due to several columns and level changes within the apartment space.
Full Renovation and Interior Design of a Four-Room Apartment
The homeowners are a young family with two grown children still living at home, with varied entertaining needs.
The living room and kitchen were opened up generously, with a large and spacious island added for kitchen work and seating — including television viewing, per the clients’ request.
The ceiling drop in the hallway was removed, which blurred the level differences and created a larger, brighter space. The central air conditioning unit was relocated into a large utility cabinet at the entrance, with a concealment and camouflage solution that also adds aesthetic and functional value for the air return and servicing, by opening doors as in a wardrobe.
The home is divided into sitting areas and varied concealed storage zones, designed for cleanliness and order.
Diverse lighting solutions were also provided to create different atmospheres for each changing function of the home — all controllable via smart glass touch switches installed using a relatively simple and affordable technique that simulates a smart home, with control also available via mobile phone across all electrical systems.
All bathrooms were renovated from the ground up, with custom cabinetry designed precisely for each space — including large concealed mirror cabinets to hide toiletries — and the space was opened up and enlarged through oversized mirrors and mirror-mounted lighting.
In the bedrooms as well, the spaces were addressed with full dressing and precise furniture placement, textile layering, lighting fixtures, lighting mode options, and completion of all elements through color selection to create the perfect atmosphere, fully tailored to the residents.
